Fergus is a natural talker and relationship-driven corporate lawyer. He’s outgoing, quick to connect, and brings an energy that makes him easy to work with. With experience in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, Fergus has worked with listed companies and multinationals across APAC, Europe and the UK on large-scale, cross-border matters. His expertise spans M&A transactions, shareholder arrangements, structuring and governance, often in matters that are complex, fast-moving, and involve multiple stakeholders.
Fergus enjoys being in the middle of a transaction and focuses on getting to an outcome clients can actually use. Alongside his transactional work, he has a strong interest in how legal work gets done more broadly and has been involved in optimisation projects focused on using technology and smarter processes to improve delivery.
He is passionate about working with not-for-profits and on pro bono matters, and seeing the impact that his work has on the broader community.
Fergus’s work focuses on:
- mergers and acquisitions
