Out and about

We kicked off the year with our fourth Women’s Networking Lunch. Noni Clarkson, Chief Legal Officer at the Australian Red Cross, joined Katherine Thomas for a candid conversation on leading legal and risk in a high-stakes environment. A huge thank you to Noni and all who attended—these lunches just keep getting better!
Jeremy Snow and Lisa Splaya-Neyman

Jeremy and Lisa have been profiled in Australasian Lawyer. Jeremy encouraged junior lawyers to explore different practice areas to build well-rounded skills, while Lisa stressed the need for meaningful mentoring as the profession evolves. Read their articles here and here!

A CIE quartet — Peter, Nicole, Monica, and Hannah — crossed the Yarra to hear Deloitte’s Motor Industry Services team, led by Lee Peters and Andrew Moore, present their annual Automotive Industry Overview. You can read their benchmarks report here. As fellow automotive aficionados, we loved hearing Deloitte’s take on the opportunities open for the industry in 2025 and beyond. It was wonderful to catch up with so many existing contacts and make new connections.

This quarter, we launched FranchiseFlow – a fixed price tool that takes the pain out of franchise network documentation. Developed via a collaboration of our technologists and franchising lawyers, FranchiseFlow provides franchisors with consistent, accurate documentation that’s compliant with the Franchising Code. So, if you’re a franchisor looking for a better way to manage your network documents, you’re in the right place! Check out our website summary here and contact our Franchising Team for more information.

Directors Duties are never out of the spotlight, and all directors need to stay abreast of their duties to avoid potentially severe penalties. In May, we are hosting a webinar where Tiffany Lucas and Mark Waters will outline the corporate governance and OH&S duties all directors in Victoria face and ways to enable compliance. This is relevant to all directors and senior managers and may be the best use of your lunchtime this year.

You have two date options: 29 May or 3 June, both at 1-2pm AEST. Click here to sign up.
