Annaleise joined CIE Legal in 2020, and was seconded to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Australia as a Consumer Disputes Advocate. She appeared in tribunals, drafted submissions and attended mediations. Alongside this, Annaleise had exposure to franchising, privacy and brand protection. Her time at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Australia enabled her to balance commercial expectations with legal outcomes and gain expertise in tribunal procedure and the ACL. Before graduating, Annaleise worked in litigation as an assistant at a global law firm and for barristers.
Annaleise returned to the firm in January 2022 and practices in commercial litigation, commercial law, consumer law and regulatory compliance.
Annaleise has assisted with:
- drafting court documents
- settling commercial disputes for publicly listed companies
- assessing material risks in contracts for the supply of goods and services
- preparing submissions on behalf of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries to the Australia Department of Treasury in relation to suggested reform to the ACL Consumer Guarantees regime
- advising on regulatory and compliance issues in the ACL
